„Purificarea pământului”

„Simbolistica focului purificator este straveche și raspândită peste tot în lume, la toate popoarele. Ritualuri de purificare prin foc au existat în toate culțurile și încă mai există și în timpurile noastre, chiar dacă unele și-au pierdut semnificația mistică,spirituală sau chiar păgână...

În cele trei ipostaze ale sale, ca foc sacru, simbol al luminii și al energiei creatoare, ca foc teluric dăruit oamenilor de legendarul Prometeu, și ca foc demonic, mistuitor, această energie prezentă în structura intimă a materiei are un loc important în mitologia tuturor popoarelor.

Asociat cultului soarelui, focul este prezent în riturile inițiatice ale popoarelor agrare, care practicau incendierea resturilor vegetale pentru a purifica pământul în vederea pregătirii unui nou ciclu agrar.

Lucrarea are ca tematică ideea de purificare prin foc,în ințelesul larg al cuvântului, aplicabilă nu doar asupra pământului, ci și asupra animalelor și a oamenilor. Trecerea prin foc este considerată nu doar tămăduitoare de molime, ci și un mod de purificare a sufletelor. . Perpetua regenerare a naturii ce se hrănește din cenușa rezultată în urma arderii… perpetua înnoire a omului care are puterea de a se ridica ori de câte ori greutățile vieții îl îngenunchează.

Focul ce arde în fiecare celulă face din tot ce e viu o pasăre Phoenix care ne ajută să renaștem, să ne ridicăm mereu, purificându-ne de greșeli și de energiile negative.

Am realizat această lucrare inspirat dintr-un moment real din zona Bărăganului.Întâlnind pentru prima oară obiceiul arderii resturilor vegetale am fost profund impresionat și am imortalizat momentul într-o viziune apocaliptică, fiindcă mă gândeam că doar un foc regenerator la nivel mondial ar putea eradica toate bolile trupului și ale sufletului.”

"Purification of the earth"

„The symbolism of purifying fire is ancient and widespread throughout the world, to all peoples. Fire cleansing rituals have existed in all cultures and still exist in our times even though some have lost their mystical, spiritual or even pagan significance.

In his three hypostases, as a sacred fire, symbol of light and creative energy, as a teluric fire bestowed upon men by the legendary Prometheus, and as a consuming, demonic fire, this energy present in the intimate structure of matter has an important place in the mythology of all peoples.

Associated with the cult of the sun, the fire is present in the initiatory rites of the agrarian peoples, who practiced the incineration of vegetal remains to purify the earth in order to prepare a new agrarian cycle.

The artwork is focuses on the idea of ​​purification by fire, in the broad sense of the word, applicable not only to the earth but also to animals and humans. Passing through fire is considered not only healing of the plague but also a way of purifying souls. . Perpetual regeneration of the nature that feeds from the ashes resulting from the burning … the perpetual renewal of the man who has the power to rise whenever the difficulties of his life kneel him.

The burning fire from inside each cell makes all that is alive a Phoenix bird that helps us to rejuvenate, to always rise, to purify ourselves from mistakes and negative energies.

I made this work inspired by a real moment from the area of Baragan. Seeing for the first time the habit of burning the vegetal remains, I was deeply impressed and I immortalizef the moment in an apocalyptic vision, because I was thinking that only a global regenerating fire could eradicate all the diseases of the body and of the soul.”

„Vibrații alternative”

„Să admiri cerul ,mai ales pe timpul nopților fierbinți de vară, are ceva mistic, tulburător, trezind în noi simțiri stranii ce te duc cu gândul la maretia arhitecturii cosmice. Te simți înconjurat de energii ce pulsează pe diferite frecvențe, materializându-se și dematerializându-se alternativ, într-un continuum fără de sfârșit.

Vibrații alternative ce configurează universuri paralele în care existența noastră se consumă într-o multitudine de ipostaze consecutive. Dacă din punct de vedere material suntem prizonierii acestei dimensiuni, din punct de vedere spiritual și mental suntem liberi să călătorim fără opreliști dintr-o dimensiune în alta.

În această lucrare, alternând culori,fascicule de lumină cu lungimi diferite de undă,  am încercat să sugerez că universul însuși este o simfonie de vibrații născute din mișcarea ondulatorie a particulelor. 

Vibrând din toate stringurile, sub acțiunea legilor fizicii, se naște o armonie pe care o putem percepe doar asociind într-o viziune unică mentalul, spiritualul și materialul."

„Alternative vibrations"

Author's description:

„To admire the sky, especially during hot summer nights, has something mystical, disturbing, awakening in strange feelings that lead you to the greatness of cosmic architecture. You feel surrounded by energies pulsing on different frequencies, materializing and dematerializing alternately, in an endless continuum.

Alternative vibrations that configure parallel universes where our existence is consumed in a multitude of consecutive hypostases. If from the material point of view we are prisoners of this dimension,, from the spiritual point of view, we are free to travel without obstacles from one dimension to another.
In this artwork, alternative colors, light beams with different wavelengths, I have tried to suggest that the universe itself is a symphony of vibrations born from the wave-like movement of particles.

Vibrating from all the strings under the laws of physics, a  harmony comes into being, that we can perceive only by associating in a unique vision the mind, the spirit and the matter.”

Nocturn Fishing

„Pescuit Nocturn”

„De când mă știu am iubit noaptea..pentru liniștea nefirească ce pune stăpanire pe lume...pentru misterul ascuns în întunericul ce te învăluie protector...pentru că doar în contrast cu întunericul ,lumina își dezvăluie întreaga splendoare.

În plimbările nocturne pe străzile pustii ale Bucureștiului ,m-am simțit întotdeauna fascinat de ferestrele luminate ale conacelor boierești și încercam să îmi imaginez cum o fi viața celor ce locuiau acolo.Până și stelele îmi păreau tot un fel de ferestre și tare aș fi vrut să fiu și eu printre ele.

În mijlocul naturii însă, atmosfera este de-a dreptul hipnotică.Am simțit acest lucru într-o ieșire la pescuit pe baltă,într-o noapte de vară luminată doar de lună și de stele.

Liniștea de început de eră geologică îmi dădea senzația că eu eram singura ființă umană de pe planetă.Cerul se oglindea în apele întunecate ce scânteiau înfiorate sub adierea vântului,dând impresia unui portal către un univers paralel.

Priveam fermecat padurea de umbre adormițe ,aplecate usor deasupra bălții ,și era atâta pace,încât nu îndrăzneam să mai fac niciun pas de frică să nu spulber vraja.

În pâlpâirea tainică a focului aprins lângă locul de pescuit,m-a cuprins reveria.Pe aproape a trecut o șoaptă ,ca fiorul unei bătăi de aripi ,și am simțit cum mă cuprinde un dor de ceva nedefinit..un dor de viață...un dor de zbor.

Dar...când pleci la pescuit nocturn nu poți ști ce anume vei prinde.

E posibil să fii tu prins...ori cuprins...de vraja nopții sau de un somn strașnic.

Cu fața spre stele,într-o totală confuzie a coordonatelor spațio-temporale ,sufletul și-a luat zborul spre ținutul lui Hypnos și am adormit buștean.

Nu îmi mai amintesc ce fel de pești am prins...dacă am prins ceva.Stiu doar că somnul m-a prins pe mine...și că,din acea noapte de pomină,am rămas cu o amintire de neuitat pe care am încercat s-o transpun în această lucrare."

„Nocturn Fishing"

Author's description:

„Since I know me I loved the night ... for the unnatural silence that takes hold of the world...for the mystery hidden in the darkness that envelops you protective ... because only in contrast to darkness, the light reveals its full splendor.

In the night walks on the deserted streets of Bucharest I always felt fascinated by the enlightened windows of the mansions and I was trying to imagine how the life of those who lived there was. Even the stars seemed to me like a window and I would have wanted to be among them.

In the middle of nature, the atmosphere is really hypnotic. I felt this in a fishing trip on the pond, in a summer night illuminated only by the moon and the stars.

The early tranquility of the geological age gave me the feeling that I was the only human being on the planet. The sky was reflecting  itself  into the dark water mirror that was  shivering with sparkles under the  gentle breath of the wind,giving the impression of a portal to a parallel universe.

I stared at the forest of sleeping shadows, gently leaning over the pond, and there was so much peace that I did not dare to take any further steps of fear not to spoil the spell.

In the mysterious flickering of the blazing fire beside the fishing spot, the reverie enveloped me. A wisper passed aside, like the thrill of a beating of wings, and I felt a lack of something indefinite ... a longing for life ... a longing  for flight.

But ... when you go fishing at night you can not know what you're going to catch. It's possible to be caught ... or encircled ... by the magic of the night or by a good sleep.

Facing the stars, in a total confusion of space-time coordinates, the soul took its flight to Hypnos's land and fell asleep like a log.

I do not remember what kind of fish I caught ... if I caught something. I just know that sleep caught me ..and that night gave me an unforgettable memory which I have tried to transpose into this artwork."

Bărăgan Plain

„Câmpiile Bărăganului”

„Eram în drum spre Constanța ,unde urma să desfășor câteva evenimente reprezentative... de artă în diferite locații, când am trăit revelația din care s-a născut această lucrare.

În legănarea trenului,câmpia mi s-a părut monotonă și cuprinsă de o atmosferă apăsătoare,un pustiu verde sub ploaia de foc a soarelui.Și..totuși..în mod ciudat,percepeam forfota vieții vegetale,consumată în liniște asemeni unui ritual sacru ,perpetuat de mii de ani,a cărui finalitate era obținerea mirabilei semințe.Cumințenia pământului ce se dăruiește lumii vegetale și ,prin ea,omului. 

Ici colo,câte o așezare omenească parcă zăcea pierdută prin câmpia inundată de verdeață iar oamenii păreau prinși într-un dialog tacit cu pământul străbun și cu înaltul celest.Acele imagini păreau a fi un paradis verde,crud și sălbatic ce vorbea de la sine despre trecutul existenței acelor pământuri îmbibate de bălți de sânge...,pârjolite de arșițe solare mistuitoare, lovite de inundații și înghețuri nemiloase. Cu toate acestea ciclul vieții și-a urmat cursul firesc, parcă sfidând timpul cât și spațiul sub tăvălugul timpului.

În condiții de lipsă a tehnologiilor moderne aducătoare de stress ,apreciate în mare parte de oamenii superficiali,falși,însetați de bani,egoiști și invidioși,acești oameni simpli sunt spirituali,găsindu-și sprijinul existențial în valorile morale și în comuniunea cu pământul care îi hrănește de milenii.

O,daca acest pamant ar putea vorbi...cate ar avea de povestit!."

„Bărăgan Plain”

Author's description:

„I was on my way to Constanta,where I was going to have some representative events... of art, in different locations,when I experienced the revelation from which this work came into being.

In the wobble of the train,the plain seemed to me  monotonous and surrounded by a strenuous atmosphere,a green wilderness under the hot rain of the sun.And yet...strangely enough,I perceived the fuss of the vegetal life,consumed in silence like a sacred ritual,perpetuated for thousands of years,the purpose of which was to obtain the miraculous seeds.The wisdom of the earth that offers itself to the vegetal world and,through it, to the mankind.

Here and there,  human settlements seemed to be lying lost through the plain flooded with greenery,and the people seemed caught in a silent dialogue with the ancestors'  earth  and the celestial height.

Those images seemed to be a green ,cruel and wild  paradise,that was speaking itself about the past existence of those lands imbued with a lot of blood... scorched by burning sunshine,floods and ruthless frosts.However,the cycle of life followed its natural course,as if defying time and space under the rolling of the time.

In the absence of modern stress-producing technologies,highly appreciated by superficial,false, thirsting for money,selfish and envious people ,these simple people are spiritual,finding their existential support in moral values and in the communion with the earth that has been feeding them for millennia.

Oh,if this eath could speak..it would have so much to tell!„

Plato's Cave

„Peștera lui Platon”

„Această lucrare este o alegorie pe tema raportului dintre om și realitate,cu accent pe condiția artistului,a omului de cultură,într-o societate în care pervertirea puterii politice ,falsele valori ,minciuna și goana după bani au luat locul adevaratelor virtuți.

În limbajul specific artei vizuale,am încercat să realizez o pledoarie pentru cunoaștere,pentru acea cunoaștere metafizică bazată pe intelectul pur,analitic,și pe rațiune.
Gândul m-a purtat spre mitul peșterii lui Platon,deoarece oamenii,indiferent de epoca în care trăiesc,sunt încă prizonierii iluziilor,ai prejudecăților,ai credințelor mai mult sau mai puțin artificiale.

Mozaicul de imagini aparent ilogice ce alcătuiesc elementele de compoziție ale tabloului reconstituie jocul de lumini și umbre proiectate pe pereții peșterii imaginate de Platon.Ele au o identitate reală,accesibilă simțurilor,dar și o semnificație ce trebuie descoperită în lumina intelectului pentru a putea dobândi acea calitate de "orthe doxa" (cunoaștere adevărată).

Ca o metaforă a idealismului,peștera pe care am imaginat-o e lumea realității aparente care,atâta timp cât e învăluită de întuneric,adică de ignoranța specifică omului incult,limitat,îl tin prizonier și îi opresc evoluția.
Călărețul din tablou ,animat de idealuri înalte,este un amestec de idealism și spirit justitiar,ceva între Don Quijote și Don Diego de la Vega,alias Zorro.Pe ciudatul său cal încearcă să evadeze din întunericul peșterii,să se infrupte din lumină,și apoi să o raspândească pretutindeni ,eliberând prizonierii din lanțurile pe care le venerează și le limitează drumul initiatic.

Cum sufletul omului este nemuritor,prizonier vremelnic într-un corp material,el poartă în sine acel sensibil latent despre care vorbea Sigmund Freud .
Cunoașterea prin anamneză (reamintire) ne leagă cumva de lumea ideilor pure ale lui 
Platon ,din care venim și către care tindem mereu. 
Îndemnul unui alt înțelept al antichității, Socrate,înscris pe frontispiciul oracolului din templului lui Apollo din Delphi..."Gnothi seauton.".(Cunoaște-te pe tine însuți) ne arat ă calea spre cunoașterea adevărată.Doar aplecați asupra sinelui vom găsi forța și mijloacele de a ne ridica mai presus de vremurile pe care le trăim,pentru a putea păstra în suflet focul sacru al adevărului și binelui.

Idealist,justitiar și filozof,artistul trebuie să rămână un nonconformist.Consider că artistul are datoria și menirea să descopere fața ascunsă a lucrurilor și fenomenelor,să scoată măștile de pe figura unor false identități și să reveleze existența frumosului acolo unde te astepți mai puțin... 
Sau cel puțin... acestea sunt unele dintre principiile mele de bază în ceea ce privește poziția și identitatea unui Artist în vederea consolidării unei societăți puternice și corect informate. 

În viziunea mea ,artistul trebuie să rămână pe o poziție neutră în ceea ce privesc aceste mecanisme sociale.
Prejudecățile sociale,politice sau religioase pentru un artist adevărat, nu contează.El este un luptător fară glorie în slujba societății pe care astfel o consolidează, dându-i o identitate solidă.
Am mai spus într-un alt context,într-o formă poate mai diferită de a transpune unele gânduri.Nimic nu luăm dincolo de viață,dar contează ce sens îi dăm prezenței noastre și ce lăsăm în urmă după ce nu vom mai fi....

Asadar această nouă lucrare este un îndemn spre cunoaștere,o pledoarie în limbajul artei ,pentru adevăratele valori umane."

„Plato's Cave”

Author's description:

„This work is an allegory on the relationship between man and reality,with an emphasis on the artist,the man of culture,in a society in which the perverting of political power,false values,lies and the rush for money have taken the place of true virtues.

In the language specific to visual art,I tried to make a plea for knowledge,for that metaphysical knowledge based on the pure , analytical intellect and on reason.
Thought has brought me in front of the myth of Plato 's cave ,because people ,regardless of the age they live in,are still prisoners of illusions, prejudges,beliefs, more or less artificial.

The mosaic of seemingly illogical images that make up the compositional elements of the painting,reconstitue the play of lights and shadows projected on the cave walls imagined by Plato.They have a real identity,accessible to the senses,but also a significance to be discovered in the light of the intellect in order to acquire that quality of "orthe doxa" (true knowledge)

As a metaphor of idealism,the cave that I have imagined is the world of the apparent reality which ,as long as it is enveloped by darkness,that is to say by the ignorance specific to the incult ,limited man,keeps him prisoner and stops his evolution.
The horse rider from the painting,animated by high ideals is a mixture of idealism and justice spirit ,something between Don Quijote and Don Diego de la Vega,alias Zorro .On his strange horse he tries to escape from the darkness of the cave, to nourish himself with light ,then spread it everywhere, freeing the prisoners from the chains they venerate even if they limit their initiatic way.

As man's soul is immortal,temporarily imprisoned in a material body,he carries in itself that sensitive latent Freud was speaking about.
The knowledge through anamnesis( through remembering) somehow directs us to the world of Plato's pure ideas from where we had come and where we always tend to.
The call of another wise man from antiquity,Socrate,engraved on the frontispiece of Apollo's temple in Delphi..."Gnothi seauton"(Know your self),shows the way to the true knowledge.Just bent on our selves we find the power and means of rising above the times we live in , in order to preserve the sacred fire of truth and good in our soul.

Idealist,with spirit of justice ,and philosopher,the artist has to remain a nonconformist.I think the artist has the duty and purpose to discover the hidden face of things and phenomena ,to remove masks from the face of false identities and to reveal the existence of beauty where you expect less...Or,at least,these are some of my basic principles regarding the position and identity of an Artist in order to consolidate a strong and well informed society.

In my view,the artist should remain neutral with regard to these social mechanisms. Social,political or religious prejudges for an artist do not matter.He is a fighter without glory in the service of the society he thus consolidates,giving it a solid identity.
I have transposed these thoughts in other contexts ,too,perhaps in a little different manner.

We take nothing beyond the life,but it matters which sense we give our presence here on earth and what we leave after us after leaving this world...
